FloridaVelo shows well at the ORC weekend

FloridaVelo’s yellow train showed well this weekend in Winter Garden and Lake Mary – its usual attacking style and spirit earned a few podiums and great placings.

The top spots on the PRO12 category were lost both days to unfortunate racing mishaps in the last lap and in the last 30 yards. On Saturday, the team took it too fast and wide on the last lap and ended with 3 out of 7 riders on the sand disrupting the organized leadout and allowing other teams to swarm around for the lead.  The laughs and desserts afterwards helped mute somewhat the disappointment. On Sunday, Ken Vida launched the winning sprint off a 4 men breakaway, but ended 30 yards short of the line with a broken chain. It was another disheartening result that was quickly put in perspective with more laughs and the satisfaction of fantastic team work and camaraderie.

Congratulations to Sean Courtney for his 2nd place in his first official race – watch out 4s…

Congratulation to Pablo Santa Cruz and Ken Vida and the entire Masters teams for a 3rd and 4th places in the first FPS Crown event.
